Kim,
Before doing the reset you must push the 180 button then it will reset when you push the bi button.

Kim,
You must push and hold the buttons as the controller turns on.

Dear Marty
How are you?
According to your advice I removed the IC chips from
the circuit board to remote driver board (driver2)
and exchanged the boards each other.
And then I pushed fine up and the coarse up buttons at the same time after hooking up all the wires.
But theTUNING red light was flashing constantly
and on the screen the frequency has changed from 4.5 to 54.990 (?) and no change at all.

So I exchanged  IC chips and board again as ever.
And I pushed fine up and the coarse up buttons at the same time.
The screen said
 "Manual Mode
    Elements Home"
I could not reset.  But it is working very well excepting interface.

When I received the controller, the remote driver board(driver2) had mounted inside,
and it never worked. Only TUNING red light was flashing.
So I  have exchanged  the driver boards already,
and It was working very well except only interface with radio.

According to the radio frequency , the frequency of the controller is not changing.

What shall I do now?
Please give me a good solution.

                                      Sincerely Yours

Kim,
At this point and time the easiest thing to do would be to remove the driver chips, U5, U6, U7, U8. from the board they are in. Then install them into the sockets on the board you now have out of the controller. Remove the board that is in the controller and replace it with the one you now have chips in. After hooking up all the wires, push the fine up and the coarse up buttons at the same time as you turn it on. The screen will say  FLASH Boot Loader
                       NORM=BL 180=EE BI=X

Press the 180 button to do a firmware reset, the 180 LED should light. Press the BI (3/4) button to exit this mode. The controller will turn off. You will need to turn on 80m again if you have a coil. All previous settings will be lost.

This should be all that is needed.

Can you answer this customer on the problem?

He has taken his remote driver board that he shouldn't have ordered, and put the board inside the controller.‚  His interface is not working, not sure why on that one.

His email is sbrtour@hotmail.com name is Kim

Thanks -

John

Dear John
How are you?
I understood your explanation a little bit.
I am very poor in English and I don't know about amateur radio technically.
So I can not explain in full.
When I received SteppIR antenna system, the circuit board is mounted inside in the controller and a remote driver board is not mounted outside.
When I operated the controller it did not work.
The TUNING red light was flashing constantly.
I opened the controller box and I found that IC chips are not located in the board.
So I exchanged the boards.
Now the SDA controller is working very well.
But the BAND of controller is not changed accoring to the tranceiver band change.
My tranceiver is Icom IC-756proIII.
I exchanged the baud rate to 9600 between the controller and my radio,
but it doesn't work.
What is a problem?
So I suppose that I don't need the remote driver board and the 33v power supply upgrade. Maybe I have mistaken to order.
Can I refund those or exchange another optional purchase?
I am waiting for your kind and quick answer.
Thank you very much for your kind explanation again.
                       Sincerely yours

Kim:

Did you receive my email below?

It explains your problem, you will not need any additional driver chips - that circuit board in the picture you sent is for the controller, and there is ANOTHER board that is the remote driver board you should have. This board HAS the driver chips installed..

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hello Kim:

We received your email regarding the problem on your controller.

You ordered the remote driver board with your antenna.

When you order the remote driver board, the driver chips are not put
into the circuit board that is inside the controller, they are put into
the remote driver board.  From there, you can run the cat 5 cable to
your SDA 100 controller, which has it's own circuit board, but it is
without the driver chips.

The picture you have sent us is of the board that should be located on
the inside of the SDA100 controller, however, you have it mounted to the
remote driver board mounting plate.

You need to remove this from the remote driver board mounting plate and
put it inside the controller, and be certain that the other circuit
board (the one with the driver boards) is mounted on the remote driver
board.

I hope this makes sense, I'm including Jim Streible in this email in
case you have more questions, because he is better at explaining these
kinds of things.

Thanks and 73
