IOTA membership (Award) 신청을 하려면 반드시 IOTA Directory라는 책자를 구입하고 이 책자에 부여된 고유번호를 신청서에 기재하도록 되어있었던 모양입니다.

이번에 GDXC에서 공동 구입한 40th Anniversary Edition의 IOTA Directory에는 이런 고유 번호가 적혀있질 않았고, 신청서 양식에도 Directory 고유번호를 기재하는 난이 보이지 않았습니다. 물론 디렉토리 어느 곳에도 고유번호에 관한 이야기는 없더군요.

그러나 몇몇 OM들 (IOTA Award를 이미 받으신.. ) 께서 고유번호가 있어야 Award 신청이 가능하다는 이야기를 하고있고, 또한 Award 신청 프로그램인 'IOTAMEM'을 가동시키면 디렉토리 고유번호를 넣으라는 과정이 나옵니다. 고유번호를 집어 넣지 않으면 프로그램이 더 이상 진행이 되지 않더군요..

의문은 바로 풀렸습니다, e-mail 한통으로..

We have decided to discontinue numbering the Directories.

If you are asked to give a number on your award application or in IOTAMEM,
insert any 5 digit number above 20000. You choose! There will be no problems
as the numbers are no longer necessary.

내용인 즉슨, 이제 더 이상 디렉토리 고유번호 제도를 실시하지 않기로 했답니다.

IOTAMEM Award 신청 프로그램에서 디렉토리 고유번호를 넣으라고 하면 20000 이상의 숫자중에서 아무거나 5자리 숫자를 넣으면 된다는군요. 고유번호가 필요하지 않으므로 아무런 문제가 안 된답니다. 머지않아 프로그램이 고쳐질 것 같습니다..
