ARRL DX CW contest가 곧 시작됩니다. VP6DX도 제한적으로 참가할 것입니다 :
•CW contest bands인 160, 80, 40, 20 15 그리고 10m에서 , 우리는 통상적인 주파수에 있지는 않을 것입니다. OP들이 밴드 상태에 따라 주파수를 선택할 것입니다. 각 OP들은 운용시 상태에 따라서 각자가 split을 할 것인지 simplex 운용을 할 것인지 결정할 것입니다.
•우리는 모든 caller(USA/VE and others)에 응답할 것이고, 우리의 컨테스트 교환물을 보낼 것이며, 컨테스트 참여자로부터 받은 교환 내용을 기록할 것입니다.
•우리는 multipliers를 쫓아가지 않을 것이며 pass 요청을 받지 않을 것입니다. 만일 또다른 밴드가 열리면 우리는 거기에 있을 것입니다. 열리지 않은 밴드를 체크하기 위하여 빠른 QSY는 시간낭비(수동 필터와 안테나 변경)이고 섬에서 제한된 시간에 올바른 시간소비가 아닙니다.
반면에, 다른 무선국은 컨테스트 밴드가 아닌 곳에 있을 것입니다. 예를 들어, 20m SSB 또는 30m RTTY. 이러한 비 컨테스트 부분 운용은 지난 몇일간 우리가 운용했듯이 계속 될 것입니다 : 힘든 propagation paths와 함께 split 운용.
우리는 컨테스트 기간에 20m RTTY 와 40m SSB 운용을 하지 않습니다.
컨테스트가 끝나는 2월 17일 2359z, 여기는 늦은 오후(4pm)에 40m는 Europe쪽이 열리고 low bands는 3시간동안 열릴 것입니다.

ARRL DX CW contest starts soon. VP6DX will participate in a limited fashion:
On the CW contest bands 160, 80, 40, 20 15 and 10, we probably will not be at the "normal" frequencies. Operators will pick a frequency based on band conditions. Each operator will make his own decisions about split vs simplex operation, depending on the situation at the time.
We will answer ALL callers (USA/VE and others), and send our contest exchange and log the exchanges received from contest participants.
We won't be chasing multipliers and will not be able to handle pass requests. If another band is open at all, we should have a signal there. Quick QSYs to check non-open bands are time-consuming (manual filter and antenna changes) and not a good use of our time on the island.
Meanwhile, other radios will be on non-contest bands and band segments; e.g., 20m SSB or 30m RTTY. These non-contest segment operations will continue as they have the last few days: split operations, with priority to difficult propagation paths.
We anticipate no 20m RTTY or 40m SSB during the contest.
The contest ends at Feb 17/2359z and it will be late afternoon (4pm) here. 40m will be just opening to Europe, and the low bands will open during the next three hours.
Comparison 80m CW / 75m SSB
The VP6DX team asks for reports about the signals produced on 80m CW and 75m SSB, especially the comparison between CW and SSB at the same time of the day/night. Please send us your observations via the contact form on our homepage http://ducie2008.dl1mgb.com/contactus/index.php.
