WLOTA Award manager 필(F5OGG)이란 양반으로 부터 아래와 같은 e-mail이 왔습니다. 내용인 즉슨, 이번에 우리 클럽의 흑산도 원정 운용 qsl 카드에 WLOTA 번호를 표기해 주면 좋겠다는 것입니다, WLOTA Award를 노리는(?) HAM들을 위해서 말입니다.
WLOTA? World Lighthouse On The Air의 약자라고 하는군요, 들어 본 것 같기도 허고.. 말하자면 '등대에서의 운용'이라고 해야 헐 것 같습니다만, '등대가 가까이에 있는 섬에서의 운용'도 여기에 해당되는 모양입니다. 그렇게해서 흑산도는 'WLOTA 1397'이 된다는군요.
QSL 카드에 WLOTA 번호 하나 더 적는다해서 큰 문제 될 것도 없을 터, 요구대로 응해주면 어찌까요?? 회원들의 의견에 따를 랍니다. 다만 이번 운용이 흑산도에서 이루어 졌다는 증거가 필요하답니다(Validation), 흑산도에서 찍은 사진이나 흑산도 행 배표 등등.. 이 문제는 지가 알아서 할 터이니 WLOTA 번호 삽입 문제만 결정해 주시길..

Hugsan Do is WLOTA 1397
You can print this reference on your qsl or on qso label and many WLOTA hunters will be happy when they receive your qsl.
This Island for WLOTA Award needs the validation of expedition after expedition. For that you must send a proof of your expedition to us (proof can be a photo of expedition or ticket boat or
another...)
Also you can participate in different WLOTA Merit Awards and also why not for the trophy of the best WLOTA Expedition of the year.

For WLOTA it is not necessary to be near the lighthouse but in the same island of the reference. (That because in some countries lighthouses are military areas).
